Ribbons and Medals Overview

Ribbons and medals display what a cadet in the NJROTC program has achieved. Each ribbon has different meanings and different ways of being earned. If a ribbon or medal is earned more than once, a device is placed on the ribbon to show the number of times a cadet has earned an award. Below is a list of devices.

Each set of ribbons will be worn 1/4 of an inch above the wearers left side pocket of the appropriate uniform and each medal will be worn 1/4 of an inch below said pocket. No more then three medals may be worn in each row, if more then three medals are worn then the second row is placed directly below the first with only the medallion of each medal showing. No more then two sets of ribbons are allowed to be worn at the same time, only two medals of the same may be worn.
