Basic Leadership Training (BLT)

The Basic Leadership Training (BLT) is a voluntary camp where a selected amount of cadets who are graduating Freshmen or Sophomores who wish to learn more about becoming a leader in the NJROTC program. The 5 day camp is held at Camp Perry National Guard Base in Port Clinton, OH. While at BLT, a sum of 150-200 cadets from Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, and Kentucky are filed into 8 platoons. During the week, cadets will learn the basic principles of being a good leader along with rafting training, orienteering training, marksmanship training, and will be introduced to other NJROTC programs and meet many new cadets. Throughout the week cadets will be challenged to work together as a team to succeed, at the end of the week, during graduation, the cadets will be recognized for there accomplishments.


Leadership Academy (LA)

The Leadership Academy (LA) is a voluntary camp where normally two cadets are chosen to excel their leadership abilities. In order to go to the Leadership Academy you must be either an incoming Junior or Senior who has successfully completed BLT.
